Ayurvedic massage is used in India to purify the body. It is based on a millennium medicine, Ayurveda that we all have within us the three "doshas" or vital energies: vata, pitta and kapha. In apprehending the individual as a whole, it provides physical relaxation and a feeling of harmony. The body and mind are found in osmosis.
During the massage, vegetable oil (sesame oil) is applied to warm the body with movements sometimes energetic, sometimes gently, to the sounds of Indian music. The massage is completed by wrapping, palpation and pressure. Ayurvedic massage unravels the physical and mental stress. It reduces fatigue, insomnia, detoxifies, circulates energy and contributes to better blood circulation.
